"I had a nice time," smiled , approaching her apartment door with her date.

"Yeah, I had an awesome time too," nodded, appearing to have enjoyed their night.

A weird moment of silence approached before spoke up to push the night aside, "Well... Goodnight. I'll see you around." She placed her hand on the doorknob.

"Oh, okay. Goodnight," awkwardly leaned in for a hug; she hugged back quickly.

Flashing a smile, went inside the apartment, closing the door behind while walked away.

"Finally," she sighed.

To her, the night seemed to have gone on forever. was a nice guy, but didn't feel a connection. She never felt a connection with any of her dates, and that's how she liked it.

dated because she was bored and was afraid of living life alone, but was too scared of trusting guys enough to have feelings for them. wanted a relationship, but didn't allow it to happen, even if she felt that 'click.'

Early the next morning, did her usual: shower, brush teeth, hair, make-up, clothes and breakfast. After all that, she'd go to a coffee shop before heading for work. Everyone knew her order and she'd chat to the regular customers while her drink was being prepared.

Today, however, was different. A guy sitting at a table with his 3 friends kept staring at her, and smiling flirtatiously. smiled in return, but quickly felt uncomfortable.

"?" Announced the male worker, holding up her drink.

"Thank you," she beamed as she looked away from the other guy.

"You have a nice day," he said sweetly.

"Thanks, . You too," grabbed her cup and walked away. She took a few napkins on her way out.

Waiting at the corner to cross the street, a person stood beside and glanced her way with a smile. She looked up and was surprised for a moment.

"Hi," he greeted.

"Hi," replied softly, brushing hair from her eyes with her fingers.

"You go there often to get coffee, don't you?" He smirked.

"Yeah, every morning," she chuckled embarrassedly. "It's that obvious, huh?" made a face.

"A bit, yeah," he laughed.

"I haven't seen you before, though," said , sipping her hot beverage.

"No, my first time," he pressed his lips together.

"Ooh, and how do you like it?" smiled with a sparkle in her eyes.

"I quite like it, actually. It's nice," he beamed knowingly.

"It's the best." giggled, sensing what he was really talking about. It wasn't the coffee shop. She felt a spark between them, something she never felt before. "Well, I'd better go. Can't be late for work," she said gently.

"Right. I'm sorry. Didn't mean to hold you up," he said apologetically.

"Oh, you didn't," assured him. "Bye," she began to walk away when traffic cleared.

"Bye," he shouted with a wave.

"What?" wrinkled his brow before wiping the lipgloss off his lips. "I thought you wanted this," he added.

"I thought I did too, but this isn't going to work," she said gently.

"But we had a good time tonight. Didn't we?" was confused and a bit hurt.

"Yeah, it was fun," nodded. "I'm sorry," she said sympathetically.

"All right. I'll see you tomorrow then," shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Bye," whispered with a light wave.

"Your coffee," smiled as he handed her drink.

"Thanks," she said shyly.

waved to and turned on her heels. She grabbed a few napkins and headed out. As she made it out the door slightly, she heard a voice call her name. When turned around to look, the guy who was eyeing her yesterday was coming towards her.

"Hi," he said, huffing a bit.

"Hi?" She said hesitantly. "How do you know my name?"

"Oh, I heard the guy who gave you the coffee yesterday. He called you ," he replied.

"I see," smiled. "You know my name now, but I still don't know yours," she added flirtatiously.

"Right. I'm ," he told her.

"It's nice to meet you," said in a coy tone.

"Yeah... so, uh, you don't seem too rushed today," noticed, rubbing the back of his head.

looked around. "I'm dreading work today," she whispered.

"Oh? Why's that?" He asked smirkingly.

"Well, it's kind of a long story," wrinkled her nose. "But it's not a very interesting one," she added.

"Maybe we could go somewhere and talk. I'd like to hear it," smiled.

"Really?" She was surprised.

"Really. How 'bout when you get off work tonight?"

Oh, he looks so cute as he waits for an answer. "I don't know," said as a strand of her hair blew over her face.

glanced at their surroundings with a grin. "Well, just say yes," he said, totally flirting.

"So.. the moral of the story here is to never date someone you work with, especially if you're like me," chuckled, after she had explained to why she was dreading work.

"You really think work'll be that weird after that?" questioned, smirkingly.

"Yeah, it was," laughed .

just smiled and stared at as she slowly stopped laughing. She could sense a pair of eyes looking at her like there was no tomorrow. She got a little uncomfortable, but tried to play it cool. couldn't show any signs of nervousness.

"It wouldn't be weird if I were to ask you on a proper date, would it?" finally spoke up. His face and tone seemed serious, but took it as a joke. He didn't really understand why.

"You really wanna go out with me?" She swallowed suddenly feeling nervous and strange. 's heart was beating so fast she felt it in all parts of her body, her hands and feet turned cold and numb. What was happening to her?

"Yeah," nodded.

didn't know quite what to say. Her and stared at each other, him waiting impatiently and her wanting to get up and run. had a strange way of handling situations such as these. She got all butterfly-ish and stutter-y. She liked a lot... and that's what scared her.

"So...?" raised an eyebrow anxiously.

bit her lip. "I don't know you really," she said.

"That's what dates are for, right?" He half-smiled.

"I suppose," pushed her lips to one side trying to avoid this situation as much as possible. "To be honest..."

"Please," said quickly.

"Um, to be honest, I don't go on "proper dates" anymore," said gently as she used air quotes.

was a bit confused. "Why is that?" He asked.

"It's a really long story. I should probably get going now. Got work in the morning and wouldn't want to be fired for being late again," popped up from her seat and gathered her belongings.

He smirked, standing to his feet as well. "Everything seems to be a long story for you, aye?" said teasingly.

"That's me," she smiled, faking it of course.

started to head for the doors to leave the building. She wanted out of there so badly and didn't know how to run without seeming rude... or weird.

"When will I see you again?" asked eagerly.

"I don't know; I can be quite the busy girl at times," replied as touched her arm, hoping to make her stay a few more seconds.

"Well, you visit the coffee shop every morning, right?"

Oh no, he has my routine all figured out. "Right," nodded.

"I'll see you tomorrow morning then," beamed happily.

"Sure," said in a rushed manner before racing out the door. She glanced back inside the building to see watching her leave. He looked a bit confused, but managed to wave goodbye with a small smile. She handled that situation badly. She knew she did.

"What are you, my mum?" laughed as the door shut behind him.

"No, just curious," smirked , sitting down on the couch with and .

"I was out chatting with this girl," said as he dropped himself down on the couch as well. "Who is a bit weird, by the way," he made a face.

"Weird?" questioned, confusingly.

"Yeah," replied simply.

"Why did you go out with her, then?" wondered, just as confused as everyone else.

"I don't know; I'm really attracted to her," chuckled. "She's not weird like that. She's just... she's always in a hurry. We were chatting and getting on really well, but then I asked her out and she couldn't get away quick enough," he explained with a blank stare.

"I'd be the same too, if you asked me out," teased as the others laughed.

"Dude, I'm serious," tried not to laugh. "I fancy her loads and I think she fancies me as well," he added, sinking down into the couch cushion.

The next day, had gone out on yet another date, even after had asked her out the day before. She knew that one more date wouldn't hurt. They weren't anything serious anyway, especially with . None of her dates were ever considered "real dates."

"This is nice," smiled, laying a napkin on her lap.

"I'm glad you think so 'cause you deserve the best," said sweetly.

blushed a little as she began looking through the menu. The restaurant was fairly elegant yet casual. It really was nice, with the white table cloths and candles standing side by side on top of the table.

was out for a stroll and walked passed the restaurant. He glanced inside to see several people inside eating dinner. He smiled but soon noticed sitting at one of the tables with some -haired guy. was crushed. He didn't know all that well yet he knew there was some connection between the two of them. He also knew she felt it too.

looked away and started to proceed home again. He thought for a moment and decided that he wasn't going to let her get away that easy. Turning around, marched toward the restaurant and entered through the doors.

"Sir, do you have a reservation?" Asked a guy sitting behind a table.

"Uh, no... I'm just here to see a friend," replied , quietly.

"I see. My apologies, but I cannot let you in without a reservation," he explained in a rather firm tone.

"I'll only be a minute," flashed a smile before proceeding into the restaurant, passing all the people sitting at their tables and eating expensive food.

"What do you think you'll be ordering?" asked as he looked up from his menu.

"I'm not... sure," stuttered when she noticed standing behind .

"What?" He questioned, cautiously.

"Hi," smirked, raising his eyebrows at .

"What are you doing here?" She asked in surprise.

"Oh, I'm just here to let this bloke know about me," said, resting his hand on 's shoulder.

"What? What are you talking about?" wrinkled her brows in confusion.

"Come on. You know what I'm on about. Dad always sends me out to tell your boyfriends about me," began, "Otherwise, I get rather angry," he added with a straight face.

leaned in towards . "Who is this guy?"

began to speak but interrupted. "I'm your worst nightmare. Do you sleep with your eyes open or closed?" bent down closer towards 's ear.

"You're crazy," said, trying his hardest to stay calm.

"Yes... Yes, I am," nodded with wide eyes.

rolled her eyes with a heavy sigh before standing up from her chair. She gripped 's wrist in her hand and excused herself from the table to speak with outside.

"What is up with you? You had no right doing what you did," exclaimed angrily.

began laughing under his breath.

"This isn't funny," put her hands on her hips.

"Did you see that guy's face? Classic!" laughed.

punched 's arm. "We don't even know each other and you ruined my date," she said with a glare.

"I know, but hell... you can do better than that wanker," said , almost sounding a little jealous.

was shocked. Is he jealous? A smile slowly appeared on her face.

"Get rid of him and come with me," pleaded, tugging on 's arm. She tugged back to resist as she glanced behind her at sitting all alone at the table.

"You know, it was really rude what you did earlier," said, looking at from the corner of her eyes.

"Yeah," he answered while biting his lip.

They were taking a stroll through the park. had taken off her black high heels to make it easier to walk without her feet hurting like crazy. There was hardly anyone at the park and the breeze made the air comfortable and slightly cold.

"So... You went out with that sod but not me," suddenly said, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets.

"What's with all the name calling? His name is ," said , surprised by his behavior. "Are you jealous?" She asked smirkingly.

"Well, you went out with him but you turned me down. It's weird; you're weird," said rather bluntly.

's eyes widened in shock. Who did this guy think he was? He had no right judging and deciding who went out with.

"I'm sorry?" She narrowed her eyebrows. "This is why I don't 'date," muttered, using air quotes as well.

"What was that?" asked as he stopped walking.

stopped a few feet ahead and turned to face . "I didn't go out with you because it sounded to me like you wanted to go on a real date," she began cautiously.

"Yeah, and what other kind is there?" wasn't catching on.

"I don't date, really. I just go out with guys even if I don't like them very much," continued. "See, I like you... a lot," she added as she stepped forward a little.

"You're afraid of commitment," said softly and nodded. "I wasn't gonna hurt you. Why didn't you take a chance with me?"

shrugged as she stared into 's eyes. He started to walked towards her and placed his hands on her hips. Bringing her body close to his, leaned in and kissed her lips gently. didn't really kiss back until tried to deepen the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck as their lips touched perfectly together.
