Stuck for 24 Hours
Outside Air... Ahhh
Chapter Seven

"Hey!" A deep voice shouted. Danny and Jadyn woke up quickly and tried to focus their eyes. Standing in front of them, with their hands on their hips, was the manager of the convenient store. "What are you two doing here?" He asked angrily. "Uh, we were locked in here nearly twenty-four hours ago," Jadyn replied, getting up from the floor with Danny's jumper in hand. "Yeah, one of your store clerks didn't check for customers like he should have," Danny said, feeling annoyed by the manager's tone. "We're really sorry, but this isn't how we wanted to spend our Saturday," Jadyn said, rolling her eyes slightly. "There's no need for you to apologize, Jadyn. It wasn't our fault," Danny said nicely, touching her arm.
"Right. I understand that, but how are we supposed to keep count of our stock, if we're not even sure what you two ate?" The manager shot back. "Well, you should've thought of that before hiring that airhead who left without checking for customers in the first place," Jadyn said rudely. "Alright. Well, I must call your parents. Let them in on our little situation here," he glared, walking to the back room to the phone. Jadyn let out a sigh and crossed her arms in front of her, with Danny's jumper still in hand.
"My mom is going to kill me," she said as she started pacing back and forth. "Why?" Danny asked confusingly. "I told her I was over at a friend's house all night. If she finds out I lied to her, I'll be grounded forever," Jadyn explained worriedly. "Why would she do something like that, when it wasn't your fault?" He questioned. "That's true, but I knew about it the whole time and didn't tell her about it. I just didn't want her to worry, that's all," she said as she slowly felt less worried. "Exactly. She'll understand," Danny smiled, pulling Jadyn closer to him as the both of them walked to the back room.

"What's your phone number, hun?" The manager asked as they entered the room. Jadyn gave out her number as the guy dialed. He extended his hand out with the phone intact for Jadyn to speak. "Hello?" Her mother answered. "Hi Mom," Jadyn replied, her voice a bit shaky. "Hi sweetie. What's wrong?" Her mother asked with concern as she noticed her daughter's tone. "Nothing really. It's just.. I lied to you about staying over at Jennifer's house," Jadyn began. "Oh?" Her mother said quickly. "Yeah, um.. Well, when I went to the convenient store to get a coke, one of the workers there closed up without checking for anyone in the store. I've been here the entire time, not being able to get out," she continued. "Oh honey, why didn't you tell me when you called? I could've come pick you up or something so you weren't all alone," Her mother said sweetly. "I know, but I didn't want you to worry. There was someone here with me anyway, so I wasn't alone," Jadyn said as she turned to look over at Danny with a smile. "Aw.. well, that's good at least, but you could have told me anyway."

"You really didn't have to have her call her parents or anything," Danny told the manager. "Don't tell me what I can and cannot do. Your parents are next," he said coldly. "Nah, my parents don't need to be involved in this. I've got my mates coming over 'round eleven anyway," Danny said, trying to keep his cool. "Okay, Mom. See you soon. I love you, too. Okay.. bye." With that, Jadyn hung up the phone and walked over to Danny. They smiled at each other before the manager motioned for them to follow him. "Oh. Here," Jadyn whispered, handing the jumper back over to Danny. "Thanks," he smiled, taking it from her. "Alright. Gather your things and wait here for your rides to turn up. I'll just be opening up the store while we wait," the manager explained, before walking away. Danny and Jadyn let out a heavy sigh in unison.

Repeated beeps from a car horn echoed outside fifteen-minutes later. Danny walked over to the front doors and saw the cab with Dougie, Tom and Harry in it pull up in the car park. "My friends are here," he said, turning around to tell Jadyn. She just smiled lightly trying to look enthusiastic. Danny walked out of the store to greet his friends, but he suddenly recognized the girl with them. Jadyn watched from the inside as Danny and the girl kissed. She felt her heart sink as a nauseating feeling stung in the pit of her stomach.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" Danny asked, pretending to sound happy that she had come. "Well, I went over to your flat and Tom told me where you were all night, and I just thought you'd like to see me after a long frustrating night in a convenient store," she said, her tone of voice baby-like. Danny smiled as he let out a fake laugh. "That's nice... Cassie. But, actually, it wasn't half bad. There's someone I want you guys to meet," he said, motioning at Jadyn to come out. She hesitated for a moment before he came in after her and pulled her by the arm. "This is Jadyn, and she was the one who got stuck with me these past twenty-four hours," Danny introduced, placing each of his hands on her shoulders. "Hi," she said shyly. "Hello," Tom, Harry and Dougie greeted in unison as their smiles widened. Cassie just stood there, judging the poor girl in her mind. She stared her up and down before walking over to Danny and wrapping her arms around him. She gave Jadyn a glare and then a fake smile. Jadyn felt uncomfortable.

Thankfully, Jadyn's mom drove up just then. "That's my mom. I guess I better go," she announced sadly, wanting to stay but go all at the same time. "Yeah. Well, uh.. I had a great time and it was nice meeting you," Danny said sweetly as the same feelings rushed through him. "Me too," Jadyn half-smiled. "I'll see you around," he said, walking in closer to her. "Hopefully," she replied softly. They both went in for a hug and stood there for a few seconds, with their arms around each other. Cassie cleared her throat trying to break the two up. Danny and Jadyn pulled away slowly. "Bye," she smiled, staring him in the eyes. "Bye," he said gently. Jadyn waved at the others and walked away quickly, getting into her mother's car. Tears ran down her face as they drove out of the car park. She was afraid of never seeing Danny again.

"She's pretty cute," Tom whispered from behind Danny. "Yeah," he replied, watching the rear end of the car disappear around the corner. Danny quickly wiped the one tear that had fallen from his eye, before anyone else could see. "Well, let's get you home. I'm sure you're exhausted," Cassie said cheerfully. "Yeah, man. Let's go," Harry agreed, patting Danny on the back. They all gathered up and hopped into Tom's car. It was a tight fit, but they all managed for the ride home.

Later that night, Danny sat on his bed writing lyrics to a song when tapping came at the door. "Yeah!" He shouted, letting the person on the other side know that it's okay to come in. "Hey," Harry greeted as he walked over to Danny's bed and sat down at the foot. "Hey," he replied reaction less. "You've been in your room all night. Why don't you come downstairs and watch some television with us?" Harry suggested. "Nah, that's all right. Thanks anyway," Danny said, looking up from his paper for a split second. "Alright. If that's what you want," Harry said, letting up on the situation. He then left, but only a few seconds later did another knock come at the door. "I don't want to watch TV," Danny shouted with annoyance.

"Not even with me?" A sweet, soft voice said. Danny looked up with confusion. He recognized that voice, but it definitely wasn't any of the McFly members. To his surprise, Jadyn stood there with a smile as her hand rested on his bedroom door. Danny got up quickly and walked over to her. "What are you doing here?" He asked with amazement. "I got this call from your friend Tom. How he got my number, I haven't got a clue," Jadyn answered, laughing slightly. "This is so wicked," Danny exclaimed excitedly. Standing outside by the door listening in, was Tom, Harry and Dougie. They couldn't stop smiling.
"Sooo.. Where's your girlfriend?" Jadyn asked curiously, as she walked into his room and sat down on the bed. "Um, that ended this afternoon," Danny said, joining her on the bed. "Aw, why?" Jadyn questioned, pretending to be sad for him, but deep down she was cheering. "She wasn't the girl I thought she was. We'll just leave it at that," he replied as he turned his body toward Jadyn. "I'm sorry," she said sympathetically. "Don't be; I'm not," Danny smirked, placing his hand on Jadyn's face and pulling it closer to his. Their lips touched lightly as they kissed. Jadyn gripped his wrist with her fingers gently as they deepened the kiss. Parading in loudly, Harry, Tom and Dougie entered the room cheering. Danny and Jadyn immediately broke the kiss as they laughed embarrassedly. Danny shouted, getting up to push the boys out of his room. He shut the door and locked it, before joining Jadyn back on the bed for another kiss.
