Blowing out the half-burnt candles, sighed in disappointment before clearing off the table. He waited and waited for , but three hours later she never came.
"I'm so stupid," muttered. "I'm a fool," he said.
Just then someone knocked on his door. glanced at the door and put the plate down. At first, he wasn't going to answer it, but then he changed his mind. When he swung the door open, he was a bit surprised to see standing there. looked down at his feet for a moment.
"I am so sorry," said sincerely.
"It's okay," replied as he walked away.
"No, it's not. I really wanted to be with you tonight," said , entering his apartment and closing the door behind her.
"Funny way of showin' it," chuckled sarcastically.
"Look, I got into a fight with as I was leaving," said in a hurt tone.

"You," answered, "You happened."
"What do you mean?" asked, confused.
"He doesn't want me seeing you anymore," stated sadly.

shook her head, "Of course not. and I... we're not meant to be. I realized that tonight. Actually, I realized a while ago but whatever," she said and then giggled.
"Ooh," said awkwardly.
"It was okay that he took away my love for interior design. I accepted that," began, "But telling me I couldn't ever see you again, I couldn't have that," she said.
"We didn't see each other for five years. It wouldn't have been any different now," said, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"It wouldn't be different. You're right, because those five years were horrible. I never got to tell you how I feel," said as she sat her purse and coat on the couch.
For a silent moment, and stared at each other from a distance. then started to walk closer to . She placed her hands on his forearms.
"I love you...," whispered as she let her lips linger in front of his.
"What about ?" asked softly.
"Sshh..." cooed before pressing her lips against 's gently.
The kiss broke a second later and pulled away slowly. was speechless then. He just fixed his eyes on hers without blinking.
"The wedding is called off. Some other bloke stole my heart," smirked, raising her hand to show off the plastic ring.
"You still have it?" exclaimed in disbelief.
"Can't imagine throwing it out," said .
"I can't believe you still have it," said as he held her hand.
"Well, believe it. It's right there," teased playfully.
looked into her eyes. "I love you so much," he said in a soft-spoken voice. "I always have."
"I love you too," said , peaking his lips with a kiss. "I'm so sorry about missing dinner," she apologized.
"Don't worry about it," smiled as they began to walk over to the couch to sit.
"This ended cheesy, didn't it?" laughed.
"Well... we like cheese," grinned cheekily.
They laughed and then cuddled up together on the couch.
