watched sleep until the sun came up. After talking about that fateful day with and , the day that had taken her life, she couldn’t shake this weird feeling in the pit of her stomach. She knew there was more to the pain she’d been feeling and the wish had made that brought her back.

sat on the couch in the living room, thinking of all the possible reasons for the bizarre stuff she’s been encountering. None of it made any sense at first, but then something astonishing came to her.

“You all right? asked ’s groggy voice.

looked up at him. “Yeah, she said.

wasn’t convinced. He ran his fingers through his bed hair and slowly approached the couch. He knew she wasn’t all right. Her eyes were distracted.

“I’ve been thinking of that night, said , her voice low and calm.

“Yeah, what about it?

“They never caught him, you know. looked at from the corner of her eyes, hugging her legs close to her chest.

“Caught who? was playing innocent now.

“The man who killed me, she said.

There was something about the way she spoke that made feel afraid. She sat there, voice dark, eyes blank, like she was possessed or in some kind of trance. He was scared to go near her, afraid to look at her, even. He didn’t know that the man who had taken away from him was still out there. It didn’t even cross his mind to seek revenge on this man, but now all these vengeful thoughts were.

“Do you know where we can find him? asked cautiously.

“No, said , turning her head to look in the eye. “But maybe he’s close, and that’s why I’ve been having the pains in my chest. Maybe I’m still connected with him somehow. Maybe I was brought back here not only to give you a second chance but to catch the guy who took me away from you.

grabbed his head. It was all too much for him. He couldn’t wrap his mind around the thought of capturing the man who had made the last three months of his life hell. Of course he wanted to see him pay for what he’s done, but a part of was scared. He was afraid of finding the man and losing control of himself. He wasn’t sure what he was capable of.

let out a deep breath. “What if we find the guy, then what?

“We put him away for good, said.

“All right, and what if finding the guy means you have to leave...for good this time, then what? He sat himself down on the couch, a few inches away from .

“I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

That’s what thought. Suddenly this didn’t seem like a good idea anymore.

decided that he was going to need , and ’s help on this one. He knocked on their doors and explained everything in as little time as he could. He knew they were going to think he was crazy, but what could be more crazy than a girlfriend returning from the dead? He knew eventually they would understand and want to help.

“So you think ’s killer is still out there? questioned, confused.

“Yes, said .

“I can feel it, added.

shifted his eyes from his band mates to , then back at his band mates again. All this talk about killers, and girlfriends coming back from the dead, and supernatural feelings was starting to make him sweat. He stood up from the couch and began pacing the floor.

“Wait, intercepted. “I don’t think this is a good idea.

“Why not? asked.

“Well, for one thing, you’re dead (no offense). Secondly, you want us to go after some mad killer who is, well... a killer, he explained.

“It’s the only way, said .

“How do you know? asked , looking right at her.

“I can feel it, . It’s what we’re supposed to do.

sighed, glancing at , and then . They seemed to have already agreed to it, so there was no changing their minds.

“Come on, mate, said .

scratched the back of his head. “Do you even know what this man looks like? He said, reclaiming his seat on the couch.

patted his back and smiled. “Thank you.

“Don’t mention it.

let out a heavy breath, gathering her thoughts. “I think if I try hard enough, I can conjure up a vision of that night.

“Is that even impossible to do? asked .

“I don’t know but I’m gonna sure try, she said.

closed her eyes and began to concentrate on the memory of that night. It wasn’t easy, but after five minutes she started to see images in her mind. She could see the school and the cars driving by on the road. The sky was almost completely dark now. Her eyelids twitched.

“Do you see anything yet? asked.

nodded her head. “I’m at the school. I’m looking at my watch, wondering where is.

swallowed hard. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to stay in the room for this, to relive that broken promise all over again. Taking in a deep breath, tried to pull himself together. He had to stay. He had to be strong.

“What else do you see? asked , staring eagerly at ’s face.

“I see, she said under her breath. “I see nothing right now. But I hear sirens. Lots of them.

rubbed his face, anticipating the next chapter in ’s memory. He could feel the most dreaded part coming and his heart was beating fast. seemed uncomfortable, too. suddenly jerked, as if she were startled.

“Someone ran into me. We’re both on the ground. It’s him. Her hand flew up to the wound on her chest. Her face winced in pain.

“Can you see his face yet? asked, leaning in closer to her.

The pain was intensifying. “I—yeah, I can see him. He’s got a knife. started to panic.

“Don’t worry about that. Just focus on his face so we can sketch it, said softly.

shot up from the couch and began pacing the floor. Just then let out a heavy gasp and fell back on the couch, still gripping the wound on her chest. immediately spun around and rushed to her side. They all did.

“, open your eyes, he said firmly in her ear. “.

’s eyes flew open, staring. It was hard to tell if there was any life in them considering they were already white and hollow.

“, are you all right? asked.

She blinked finally. “What happened?

exchanged a concerned look with his band mates.

“You had a vision, said cautiously.

“Did I see his face? sat up.

“We think so, said . “But you didn’t actually tell us what he looked like.

“Then we’ll just try again.

“No, said. “I think we’ve had enough for one day.

And with that, he left the room.
