We walked up to a play area for kids, and Dougie sat down on the slide. He patted his lap signaling for me to sit on it. I walked over to him and he slid his arms around my waist.

тАЬ, I love you.тА? He said kissing my cheek.

тАЬI love you, too.тА? I said smiling and nuzzling my face into his neck.

This is the way itтАЩs always been. Dougie and . and Dougie. We were each otherтАЩs best friends, and no one could tear us apart. We were always there for one another, through think and thin. When he left on tour, it was hard. But for the past two years, weтАЩve managed to make it through.

тАЬDougie, we should be getting back, itтАЩs starting to get late.тА? I said standing up. I pulled his hand so he was up too. He started laughing when I was walking ahead of him.

тАЬAnd what are you laughing at mister?тА? I said, putting my hands on my hips.

тАЬYouтАЩve got something on your bum.тА? He pointed.

тАЬWhat? Where?тА? I said turning, looking like a dog chasing his tail.

тАЬHere, let me help.тА? He said as he pulled something off the back of my jacket.

тАЬA lizard tattoo! Sweet! Some kid probably left it here.тА?

I laughed at his childish behavior. Dougie used to be called the тАЬLizard KingтА? in school, тАЬYou want me to put it on you?тА?

тАЬYeah, then IтАЩd be cooler than all of the children in the world!тА?

тАЬYou already are,тА? I said giggling, pulling a tissue out of my bag and walking over to a water fountain to dampen it to apply the tattoo.

тАЬYouтАЩd be such a good mum..тА? Dougie said as I put to cloth on his arm.

тАЬI should be, IтАЩve been taking care of you for the past two years!тА? I said laughing, and making him hold the cloth for himself.

тАЬThatтАЩs because you love me.тА?

тАЬHey!тА? he said taking off the cloth and trying to pull me towards him.

тАЬDougie, put it back on!тА? I said maneuvering his hand to hold the cloth again.

тАЬYes mommy.тА?

After about thirty seconds, he lifted up the cloth and it revealed a lizard, тАЬHey! It looks just like Jerry!тА? he said smiling at me.

тАЬDougie, youтАЩre so pathetic.тА?

тАЬNo, IтАЩm just in touch with my inner-youth. Unlike some people.тА? He said poking me.

тАЬYou are enough for the both of us.тА? I said, laughing.

We decided to leave the park and head back to the house that we shared. He held my hand the whole time, as if he wanted to protect me from everything. He may act like a child most of the time, but heтАЩs the greatest thing thatтАЩs ever happened to me. He brings out the fun, crazy side of me, rather than the serious, straightforward, lifestyle I usually lived. We were completely different people, but then again, we were the exact same person. ThatтАЩs why it was such a surprise when we got together, no one believed it. But I think they did when Danny walked in on us under the covers if you know what I meanтАж

Right when we were in front of our house, Dougie picked me up and flung me over his shoulder.

тАЬDougie! Put me down!тА? I screamed.

тАЬ, shh! ItтАЩs late; the neighbors are asleep. So be quiet!тА? he said opening the front door.

тАЬCome on !тА? He said.

тАЬPut-me-down!тА? I yelled in between bouncing up and down from the stairs Dougie was running up. He stopped at the bedroom and set me down.

тАЬOkay,тА? I said smiling and slinking my arms around his neck. тАЬWhat do you want to do?тА? I said kissing him lightly on the lips.

тАЬI think I do,тА? I smiled and pulled away. I ran over to the bed and got under the covers, тАЬGoodnight!тА? I yelled and pretended to fall asleep.

тАЬHey! ThatтАЩs not what I meant!тА? he said tackling me.

тАЬThen what-тА? I started. Even though I knew already. He bent over and kissed me passionately on the lips as a pulled him under the covers with me.

By the time he finally went to sleep, we were tangled up together in the messy sheets, with my head on his bare chest. I looked at the clock and it was only a little past eleven. I sighed and cuddled a little closer to Dougie. I felt his weight shift, and an arm went around my shoulder.

тАЬYeah?тА?

тАЬWill you marry me?тА? he asked. I looked at him to see that his eyes were still closed. But then one opened, as if he was trying to see my reaction.

тАЬBut Dougie! You leave tomorrow.тА?

тАЬThat has nothing to do with the rest of our lives,тА? he said opening both eyes.

тАЬOf course I will!тА? I said kissing him.

тАЬGood, cause I already have a spot for you on our tour bus to come with me. You canтАЩt plan a wedding alone, now can you?тА? he smiled.

тАЬBut- Wha- How?тА? I stumbled.

тАЬIтАЩve been planning this for a while, I just needed the right time.тА?
